Veterinarian Dr. Thomas Joseph McKee joined the medical team at Camelot Court Animal Clinic in 2008. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and his main veterinary interest is internal medicine. Dr. McKee’s favorite part of being a veterinarian is taking on a challenging case and successfully diagnosing and resolving it to the mutual benefit of the patient and the owner.

Dr. McKee studied biology and pre-veterinary sciences at Montana State University and Kansas State University, and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1975. He went on to study veterinary medicine at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. Dr. McKee is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.

Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. McKee worked in mixed and large animal practices as an assistant and livestock handler. He credits Dr. Iain Paton—a Scottish veterinarian he knew during his formative years—as his inspiration for pursuing veterinary medicine.

At home, Dr. McKee has a Yellow Headed Amazon parrot named Mickey. He and his wife Kathy—a retired nurse—have three children named Iain, Sarah and Andy. Dr. McKee is a member at the local Presbyterian Church, and he volunteers as a Boy Scout leader. In his free time, he enjoys playing the Scottish Highland Bagpipe, listening to Celtic and folk music, exploring the outdoors, fishing and hiking.
